Mould Removal

Where there is moisture, there is potential for mould growth. Mould growths, or colonies, can start to grow on a damp surface within 48 hours.

Xtreme Clean provides mould remediation and mould removal services to customers.

Technicians are trained to identify the source of the moisture contributing to the mould growth and use specialist techniques and the latest technologies to successfully remove mould contamination.

There are a number of precautions that a property owner can take in order to prevent the growth and spread of mould in their property.

  1. Inspect the home for water leaks and rectify any leaks if found
  2. Ensure the property has adequate airflow. To increase airflow inside a property, open up all doors and windows and turn on any fans
  3. Use exhaust fans in wet areas such as the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room.
  4. Make sure that all crawl spaces and attic spaces are adequately ventilated and insulated
  5. Vacuum the property on a regular basis to remove mould spores
  6. Promptly clean any spills or condensation to prevent mould growth

Every mould remediation project is unique and requires a different approach for remediation.

Firstly, our technicians will carry out moisture readings to determine the source of the moisture and identify any areas that are water affected. The mould affected area will be contained if required and an air filtration device may be installed depending on the extent of the mould growth. The mould spores are then vacuumed with a hepa vacuum and treated with mould cleaning solution. If the building structure has elevated moisture, this will need to be dried during this process after the initial treatment.
